About the Artist

The love of nature beautifully present in Judy’s paintings began with explorations of the woods near her home in Keene, New Hampshire. She began drawing at a young age and took art classes in school, as well as private lessons. After graduation from the Butera School of Art in Boston, Judy went on to work as a fashion illustrator at Sage Allen Department Store in Hartford, CT.

Eventually settling in Kingston, New Hampshire, Judy worked from her home studio for most of her 28 years there. She painted, illustrated, did freelance design, gave classes to children and adults, and became a Reiki Master/teacher. She developed a unique program for children combining art and Reiki called “Reikids.”

Today Judy lives in Woodstock, Maine, with her husband and best friend, Dennis. They have two children and four grandchildren. Judy finds inspiration walking in the woods behind their home and on annual trips to Monhegan Island and Ocean Park, Maine, where she can be found absorbing the local color, if not putting it on paper.

Just as music and poetry lift the spirit and bring healing energy to the body, Judy hopes that her watercolor paintings, created with healing intention and energy, will do the same.
